WebCAD Terms of Service

Last updated September 27, 2026

WebCAD is a browser-based CAD/BIM application provided by Romblad CAD & BIM AB. The application is free; AI features are paid with prepaid AI credits. You own your designs. AEC calculations and AI outputs are design-assist tools requiring professional verification.

1. Professional AEC, Engineering & Architectural Disclaimer

WebCAD provides 2D/3D modeling, parametric change graphs, quantity takeoffs, structural estimates, daylight/solar calculations, and MEP drafting strictly as design-assistance tools for planning and coordination.

WebCAD does not constitute licensed architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or life-safety engineering advice. WebCAD is not a certified professional engineer, registered architect, or building code authority.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that all designs, drawings, calculations, geometry, schedules, and exports (IFC, DWG, DXF, PDF) comply with applicable national, regional, and municipal building codes, zoning ordinances, Eurocodes, IBC, or other regulatory standards.

Before any geometry, drawing, schedule, or calculation generated by or within WebCAD is relied upon for construction, fabrication, procurement, permit submissions, or safety-critical decisions, it must be reviewed, recalculated, verified, and stamped by an appropriately licensed professional in your jurisdiction.

2. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features & Caddie Assistant

WebCAD incorporates AI-assisted capabilities ("Caddie") powered by large language models and vision APIs (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, or local LLMs).

AI models generate probabilistic outputs and may produce inaccuracies, omissions, errors, or hallucinations. WebCAD makes no warranty regarding the correctness or structural validity of AI-generated geometry, scripts, or summaries.

Interactions with AI features transmit prompts and relevant context metadata to the user-selected AI provider. Sending viewport screenshots or drawing attachments requires explicit user opt-in via Caddie Privacy Settings.

3. AI Credits, Payments & Our Reseller Paddle

WebCAD is provided by Romblad CAD & BIM AB (Swedish company registration number 559384-6156), Sweden. Modelling, IFC, coordination and sharing are free. AI features are paid with prepaid WebCAD AI credits, where 1 credit is worth $0.01.

Credits are sold in one-time packs: $5 for 500 credits, $10 for 1,000 credits and $20 for 2,000 credits. Prices include applicable taxes such as VAT. Every new account also receives 100 free credits once.

Credits are used up as you run AI features; the cost of each request depends on the AI model and the amount of work, and is shown in the app. Credits do not expire, have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and can only be used in WebCAD.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Refunds are described in our Refund Policy. If a payment is refunded or charged back, the credits it bought are removed from your balance.

4. Eligibility & User Accounts

You must be at least 16 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use WebCAD.

You may use WebCAD via third-party OAuth providers (Google, GitHub) or in Guest Mode. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and session access.

5. User Content & Intellectual Property Ownership

You retain 100% full ownership, intellectual property rights, and title to all models, drawings, sketches, IFC files, and project data created or imported by you in WebCAD. WebCAD claims no ownership over your designs.

When using collaborative Live Projects, you grant WebCAD a limited license solely to host, cache, and transmit your data to your authorized collaborators.

BIM families or components deliberately published to WebCAD's Shared Community Library are shared under the open license you select (such as CC-BY-4.0 or CC0-1.0 Public Domain).

WebCAD software, logos, trademarks, and engine code are proprietary to Mats Romblad and protected by copyright. Third-party components are used under their own licenses — see the third-party notices shipped with the app.

6. Local-First Architecture, Storage & Backups

WebCAD operates predominantly client-side in your web browser. Project databases, undo history, and offline autosaves reside in your browser's IndexedDB and local memory.

Browsers may evict local storage caches under disk pressure or browser updates. You are strongly advised to regularly export your work as IFC or project backup files. WebCAD is not liable for data loss from local browser cache clearing.

Cloud collaboration and relay synchronization are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without uptime guarantees.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use WebCAD for unlawful purposes, attempt to disable security controls, disrupt cloud signaling rooms, upload malicious payloads, or exploit parser vulnerabilities.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

WebCAD and associated services are provided strictly "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

We disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, as well as warranties regarding the accuracy of calculations or AI outputs.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WebCAD, Mats Romblad, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, construction delays, permit rejections, re-work expenses, or structural failures.

Our aggregate liability for any claims arising from these Terms or use of WebCAD shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the past 12 months, or 100 SEK (~$10 USD).

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to WebCAD shall be governed by the laws of Sweden, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of Sweden. This does not limit any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
